Throttle sticking on my Z650

Noticed lately that the throttle on my Z650's been sticking just enough to make slow maneuvering and stops a little spicier than I'd like. It doesn't snap back clean every time, and I'm not loving the extra surprise revs when I'm pulling into a space or easing off at a light.
I've checked the cable tension and gave it a quick lube, but it's still not smooth enough as I would like. Before I start pulling things apart, anyone run into this and find a quick fix?

man, a sticky throttle is the bane of a rider's existence! Since you've already lubed the cable, it's often something else throwing a monkey wrench into the works.
Have you checked the throttle tube itself? Sometimes they get a bit worn or gunked up on the handlebar. Also, doublecheck that your bar ends aren't too tight and rubbing against the throttle tube. It's a surprisingly common cause!

Oh no. The throttle is really delicate so you should address this ASAP. I agree with @BadBackGT that it must be something in the tube.
